Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Staff Software Engineer to join our team at Zscaler. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining critical components of our cloud security platform.
You will have end-to-end ownership of features starting from testing, automation (if applicable), deployment, and helping with monitoring.
You should have a strong background in cloud technologies, automation, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based software solutions.
- Collaborate with the SRE team for deployment and fixing issues wherever applicable.
- Working experience with AWS, AZURE, GCP, RabbitMQ is a plus.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Work on scale, performance, and load testing along with functionality. Working experience with the same is highly desirable.
- Diagnose customer issues and take ownership of issue resolution. Recreation of production issues, and providing necessary workarounds for resolution.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and take full ownership of features.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in cloud & networking technologies.
- Proven experience working with AWS, AZURE, and GCP platforms.
- Proven experience working with Python automation framework like pytest.
- Proficiency in shell scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Must be a strong team player, able to work independently, and also mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and services - DNS, HTTP, TCP / IP, SSL / TLS is a plus.
Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission / bonus / equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$147,000 $210,000 USD
