Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Kubernetes Tanzu, RabbitMQ WebLogic, and Kong API Administrator to join our dynamic IT team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting Kubernetes Tanzu TAS and WebLogic environments, with a specific focus on integrating and managing Kong API Gateway solutions.
You will collaborate closely with development teams, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our containerized and traditional application environments.
Your role in our mission
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes Tanzu clusters and VMware Tanzu TAS environments.
Manage containerized applications and microservices using Kubernetes Tanzu, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Configure and maintain TAS foundations, including Bosch deployments, stemcell management, and troubleshooting platform issues
Deploy and manage cloud-native applications on Tanzu Application Service (TAS), ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability
Implement automation pipelines for application deployment and updates using Concourse CI or similar tools
Utilize APM tools (such as Elastic APM, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, or similar) to monitor application performance metrics, including response times, throughput, and resource utilization.
Monitor and optimize RabbitMQ performance metrics, including throughput, latency, and message delivery reliability
Experience in migration from Layer 7 to KONG API Gateway
Integrate and administer Kong API Gateway to manage API traffic and ensure security and performance.
Implement best practices for Kubernetes cluster security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Work closely with development teams to onboard applications onto Kubernetes Tanzu clusters and integrate with Kong API.
Perform upgrades, patches, and optimizations of Kubernetes Tanzu and WebLogic environments.
Monitor system performance and capacity planning of Kubernetes clusters and WebLogic servers.
Coordinate and manage the renewal process for SSL / TLS and other digital certificates used across various systems and applications
Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Troubleshoot issues related to networking, storage, and application deployments in Kubernetes and WebLogic environments.
Strong experience with reverse proxy technologies such as Apache HTTP Server, HAProxy, or similar.
Collaborate with IT operations and support teams to resolve incidents and fulfill service requests promptly.
What we're looking for
5 years experience in cloud-native application development and deployment.
Hands-on experience with VMware Tanzu (formerly Pivotal Cloud Foundry) or other cloud-native platforms.
Proven experience in administering Kubernetes clusters
Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP / IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) as they relate to Kubernetes
Experience with Kong API Gateway, including configuration, deployment, and management.

The pay range for this position is $71,100.00 - $101,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
