Position Summary
The person in the Physician role will be responsible for meeting, assessing and diagnosing patients in a Children's hospital setting and provide them with healthcare services that meet state and national standards for caregiving.
Responsible for prescribing patients with appropriate medication, health regimens and lifestyle adjustments that will contribute to their recovery from diagnosed health issues, prevent future health issues and / or promote a healthier life.
License / Certification / Registration required? Yes
- Board BE / BC in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics.
- Completion of an ACGME Accredited Fellowship program, per sub specialty requirements.
- Board BE / BC in Sub Specialty, if applicable. Ability to be successfully credentialed by both Hospital and 3rd Party Payers.
Required Education :
Must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree from another country with a current Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Clinical competency and expertise in caring for hospitalized children.
- Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications.
- In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Respect for patient's confidentiality.
