The Garden Hotel is an independent, 155 room hotel with multiple restaurant outlets and 3 pools located along scenic Ocean Boulevard in the heart of Ft Lauderdale.
Undergoing a full renovation and rebrand, The Garden Hotel is looking for a strategic and collaborative Director of Sales to join our Executive Team.
This role involves both selling and strategy, and the ideal candidate should thrive in a hands-on role.
This is a rare opportunity for someone with entrepreneurial drive to work closely with the executive team to build a brand and a sales capability from the ground up.
As a senior leader, the Director of Sales will be responsible for driving profitable business growth and championing a customer-centric and revenue-driven culture at the property
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a Sales and Marketing plan that outlines specific sales strategies to achieve defined goals.
- Initially, this role will be heavily focused on strategy, business development and networking within key leisure segments to include : Consortia, Wholesale, Corporate and SMERF
- Supporting the General Manager in developing programs and strategies that improve market penetration and increase sales throughout the year.
Work closely with Revenue to maximize REVPAR and grow market share to include providing sales forecasts, month end reports, etc.
- Participate in Revenue calls to review / discuss group lead volume, pipeline, group block changes and action plans
- Partner with all departments (i.e. Reservations, F&B, Finance, and Operations) to optimize REVPAR and ensure Group / Account expectations are managed and met.
- Continuously monitor business mix to identify and develop new markets adapt to changing market conditions.
- Participate industry events, trade shows and networking functions at the national and local levels to create awareness as well as develop key relationships with target segments
- Meet regularly with Marketing to :
- Align sales and marketing strategies and initiatives to enhance brand visibility and drive revenue growth
Drive business growth within each key segment i.e. Consortia, Corporate & SMERF i.e. creative briefs, continuity of messaging
- Collaborate on the creation and execution of promotional campaigns and materials
- Utilize insights and data to inform and refine target market strategies
- Review and assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts in contributing to sales objectives.
Utilize 3
party software to research, identify and develop key accounts and strategies for each target segment
Utilize Sales & CRM software to track Sales Activities and Performance
Negotiate contracts and agreements i.e. Consortia, Corporate and Groups
SKILLS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively
- Executive presence coupled with strong written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Experience in the development and execution of Sales and Marketing plans.
- Must be financially adept and accountable in managing Sales Budgets & Forecasts
- Planning, organizing and effective time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals & objectives.
- Passion for outstanding service, competitive spirit, strong leadership skills, and a track record of accomplishments
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales or Hospitality Management
- 5+ years of experience in a Senior Sales or Director of Sales role
- Flexible schedule with the ability to occasionally work weekends and travel
- Experience with new hotel opening a plus
Leisure Sales experience in the local and / or South Florida market a plus
Working knowledge Triple Seat or Event Temple, Demand 360 and MEWS a plus
