Job Title : Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
Salary Range : $70,000 $85,000
Type : Full-Time, Exempt
Location : Denver, Colorado
Position Objective
The primary objective for the Senior AP Specialist will be to manage the teams deliverables and to make sure they are delivered in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
Essential Functions
- Manage a team of 2-3 AP specialists whose primarily responsibilities include :
- Processing and coding a high volume of invoices for approval through an AP routing software.
- Processing retail inventory purchases via three-way matching.
- Preparing weekly payment proposals for approval by department leaders.
- Processing weekly ACH payments and check runs, including our banks positive pay features.
- Assists in managing various shared inboxes for invoice processing, as well as internal and external inquiries.
- Assist accounting team with bank reconciliation as it relates to debit card activity, utilities, and other charges.
- Emphasizes organization by maintaining a clean email inbox, digital document filing, and financial records.
- Provides support for accounting team by prepping reports, including aging schedules and statements.
- Ensure that processes are compliant with all company policies and controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of professional AP / AR or accounting experience.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Exposure to the Cannabis industry is a plus.
- Attention to detail, organization, and accuracy is critical.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and multi-task.
- Efficient internal and external communication is critical.
- Experience with Sage X3 or a similar accounting ERP system a plus.
- Experience with X3 CloudDocs or a similar routing / approval software a plus.
- Computer skills required include working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to stay calm and professional given high volume and tight deadlines.
Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)
- Office based position, Monday through Friday (approximately 8 : 00AM to 5 : 00PM).
- Additional hours are based on the manager's requirements, with some weekend work as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in the state of Colorado.
