About The Position
Job Title : Grossing Technologist Job Specialty : Pathology Job Duration : Full-time Shift : Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours : 80 hours per pay period Experience : 1+ years of grossing experience required License : Current NYS license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Histotechnologist (HTL) Certifications : N / A Must-Have : Bachelor's degree in Science Job Description : Responsible for the accurate gross description, dissection, and processing of all biopsies, routine and moderate complexity tissue specimens according to established protocols.
Work under the direct supervision of a Pathologist and / or Pathology Supervisor.- Participate in limited technical activities of the Pathology department as needed, including : - Accessioning - Staining - Cover slipping - Routine maintenance - Cytology specimen preparation
