PositionPurpose :
Independently perform avariety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions such asremoval and installations of airframes, landing gear, enginecomponents, electrical components, and control systems to assureconformance to procedures, performances and test specifications. Job Description
Principle Duties andResponsibilities :
Essential Functions :
- Perform required. periodic maintenance and necessaryservicing of all aircraft mechanical systems. Must demonstrate theability to consistently perform assigned maintenance task withinthe quoted or standard CMP time.
- Provide work direction for assigned technicians. Promotehigh standards of quality through instruction and by examplesetting. .
- Act on behalfof Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) in his / her absence and assume theduties and responsibilities of the MTL when assigned.
- Coordinate with the Inspectiondepartment to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspectionand documentation requirements.
Properly complete work ordersign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paper work in a timelymanner. Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standardsand specifications.
- Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Storeaircraft components and other customer property securely andsafely.
- Follow standardoperating procedures and JSAs when operating ground supportequipment, such as power supply, hydraulic rigs, nitrogen fillercarts, and oxygen service carts.
Operate and supervise use ofspecial support equipment used in removal and installations ofmajor components.
- Coordinate movement of aircraft as required. .
- Assist in training new employeesconcerning computerized maintenance program (CMP) maintenancemanuals, SRMs illustrated parts catalog (IPC) usage, flight testinstallations, and all maintenance of major components..
- Coordinate with otherdepartments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customerproperty as needed.
Additional Functions :
- Use the material tracking system to createparts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and itemnumbers. .
- Apply 6S andLean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areasclean and uncluttered. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel,oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags..
- Implement and applyLean / continuous improvement processes to all areas ofresponsibility. .
- Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.Return items to designated storage area after use. .
- In support of aircraft certificationand final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft asrequired. .
Perform otherduties as assigned.
OtherRequirements :
- Advanced knowledge ofinspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft modelsand systems within each aircraft product line.
- Advanced knowledge of pertinenttechnical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, ServiceBulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS,etc.).
- Working knowledgeof the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station andQuality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to read,write, speak, and understand the English language.
