Our lead teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment.

Teachers work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.

Educational Qualifications

  • A CDA or
  • Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a Year of Employment at Goddard (We can pay for this!) or
  • 1 year of experience in a Licensed Early Childhood Center and 30 semester hours in any field with 6 hours directly related to childcare or
  • A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood education or related field.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities

A Lead Teachers responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support each childs social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
  • Plan and implement activities that develop childrens self-esteem, social skills
  • Respect cultural and ethnic diversity
  • Establish positive and effective family relations
  • Maintain a portfolio for each child
  • Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Childrens Progress)
  • Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences, and professional growth opportunities
