GlobalSource, a National IT recruiting firm, is seeking a dynamic leader to head our clients' Analytics Engineering team.
This role will transform our data capabilities from a traditional Business Intelligence (BI) approach to an Analytics Engineering focus, ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and valuable for business decision-making.
You will work closely with business leaders to understand their data needs and collaborate with data engineers and architects to deliver data-driven solutions.

Primary Function What you'll do
- Lead Transition to Data Product Focus : Guide the team in developing trusted, intuitive, and high-performance data products for the business.
- Business Partnership : Cultivate relationships with business leaders to understand their data challenges, gather requirements, and translate business problems into technical solutions.
- Data Solutions Design : Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and data scientists to develop data models, dashboards, and tables that drive actionable insights.
- Dashboard Creation : Design comprehensive dashboards that provide quick, reliable insights, reducing the need for multiple specific visualizations.
- Best Practices Champion : Adopt and promote best practices in data integrity, testing, validation, and documentation to ensure the broad adoption of data products.
- Data Research : Conduct independent research to uncover critical data insights that improve business outcomes and customer experiences.
- Third-party Data Integration : Identify and onboard new external data sources that enhance performance.
- Compliance and Confidentiality : Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with company policies and standards.
Role-Specific Responsibilities What they want
- Strong business presence and acumen to help business partners decipher their true underlying data needs that support the insights that will lead to incremental business impact
- Strong proficiency in SQL
- Strong understanding of data warehouse / data modeling concepts and procedures
- Ability to develop, document, and deliver end-user materials such as training or project artifacts
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud-based architecture and PowerBI
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
Qualifications What you'll need
- 10+ years work experience within Analytics Engineering or Business Intelligence, leading projects and building actionable, data-based solutions (data models, tables, and dashboards) in a cloud environment
- 5+ years managing a team of at least 3 people in Analytics Engineering or Business Intelligence
- Advanced experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
- Intermediate level experience with Python 3 and focus on Pandas, Polars, or Spark for data analytics use cases (similar R experience acceptable)
- Experience creating self-service analytics, preferably within Azure Cloud architecture, PowerBI, and Databricks.
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or another related field
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or another related field
- Certifications : Power BI Development and Design certification preferred.
- Experience : Working with Google Analytics, Big Query, Salesforce, SAP, and CDP platforms. Experience in data visualization and tools like Jira, BitBucket is a plus.
