One of our clients in Aiken, SC needs a Project Control Lead for a contract position.
Position : Principal Engineer Mechanical Process Design.
Location : Aiken, SC
Position Type : Contract (12 months with 2 option years)
Travel : Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. 100% onsite.
Clearance : Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE- Q Clearance
Job Description :
The Contractor will provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS.
Primary responsibilities include :
- Engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to : Process Flow;
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications;
- Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design;
Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
Qualifications :
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a nuclear industry / facility.
- Candidate must demonstrate experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas : Process Flow;
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications;
- Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design;
Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
- Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk-downs of the job site for engineering work being performed.
- These walk-downs may involve constructions sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing, and environments where a respirator is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance
- Must be able to provide professional references
BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Preferred :
Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures are preferred
