Qualifications :

  • Professional Educators License (PEL) with a Masters in Library Science (MLS or MLIS).
  • Full Time, 9-Month Position.
  • 2025-2026 School Year.
  • District Wide.
  • Starting Salary : $44,500.00.

Responsibilities :

  • Support all students in reading and writing.
  • Support small group / individual reading and writing interventions.
  • Conduct skill-based activities in alignment with classroom teachers.
  • Increase access to and maintain online books and resources (in partnership with Kankakee Public Library).
  • Provide training to assist student support interventionists.
  • Maintain K-6 reading programs such as Monarch, Caudill, Accelerated Reader.
  • Manage Destiny Library System, inventory, overdue books, and fees.
  • Review and recommend book collection selections.
  • Seek additional funding opportunities.
  • Support teachers through units of study and enhance classroom libraries.
