YAI has an opening for a Behavior Intervention Specialist. This is a clinical position which involves the assignment to several programs where the BIS is responsible for the assessment of individuals’ habilitative, behavioral and psychiatric needs and the development and implementation of effective interventions to help support those needs.

Key / Essential Functions & Responsibilities

The BISs effectiveness depends on implementing the person-centered values and beliefs, their capacity to form and maintain good relationships, their ability to identify and assist staff to employ best practices that will improve the person’s situation, and their effectiveness as advocates for necessary changes in service practices

The position involves training staff to ensure the interventions are understood, consistently implemented as documented and data is taken to effectively evaluate progress

The BIS will also spend significant time interacting with individuals, assessing their ADL skills, providing personal care, promoting habilitation and / or rehabilitation, as well as providing for the health / safety and well-being of the individuals at all times

In addition, the BIS is responsible for supervising the Assistant BIS to ensure that all the treatment and habilitative needs of the people receiving supports are addressed, all staff are trained, all program plans are implemented properly and consistently, and all documentation is maintained

Minimum Qualification Requirements Minimum requirements of specific positions may vary by assigned function and / or contract.

All job title must meet the following minimum requirements :

Master’s degree in field of psychology, socialwork or related field (as specified in OPWDD)

Preferred Qualification Requirements desired

Experience with intellectually and developmentally disabled population

Compensation :

$55,000.00 - 60,000.00 annually; based upon education and experience

Schedule : M-F 10a-6p

M-F 10a-6p
