Executive Sous Chef- La Chinesca
La Chinesca is part of the 13th Street Kitchens restaurant group. Situated in the Spring Arts District , La Chinesca draws its inspiration from Mexicali, a border town in Mexico where there is a unique combination of Chinese and Mexican cuisine.
We are looking for a self-motivated Executive Sous Chef who is looking to further their career within a growing company.
We are looking for seasoned veterans who have had several years of experience with Mexican cuisine.
Summary / Objective :
The Executive Sous Chef is directly responsible for assisting with menu development alongside the Chef and Owner. They are also responsible for executing the menu in service with an emphasis on consistency and flavor.
Requirements :
- Candidates must have experience within high volume restaurants with equally high standards.
- 3 or more years of Sous Chef experience highly preferred.
- Responsibilities include prepping and menu creation, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, rotating station responsibilities, teaching and leading the kitchen team in menu execution.
- Punctuality and weekly flexibility are a must.

Physical Demands :
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally push and / or pull up to 50 pounds. The employee will spend over 4 hours daily standing or walking.
