Description

Position : Rad Tech – Interventional Radiology (Cath / IR)

Location : Baton Rouge, LA

Start Date : 09 / 02 / 2025

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

End Date : 12 / 02 / 2025

Shift : 8-hour day shift + Call

Setting : Inpatient – Interventional Radiology

This IR / Cath Lab Rad Tech role supports a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic, high-acuity procedural environment at Ochsner Health Center – Baton Rouge. You’ll assist physicians during complex interventional and cardiac procedures using fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment. Must be comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring, radiation safety, and post-procedure imaging documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare procedure room, equipment, and patients for interventional procedures
  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment and cardiac cath lab systems
  • Monitor patient vitals and assist in calculating hemodynamic values
  • Capture and archive diagnostic imaging via PACS
  • Follow all safety protocols and monitor radiation exposure levels
  • Document procedures and assist with billing accuracy
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences – Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences – Preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a cath lab or IR setting – Required
  • ARRT Registration + Louisiana Radiologic Technologist License – Required
  • BLS + ACLS (AHA) – Required
  • Proficient in operating fluoroscopy and cardiac imaging equipment
  • Must be detail-oriented and calm in high-pressure situations
  • Additional Information\nShift : 8-hour days with call (weeknights, weekends, and holidays)\n\nMedium physical demand; regular exposure to bodily fluids and radiation\n\nMust be comfortable working in high-stress clinical settings
