Senior Project Manager - Financial Services Integration

6 month contract, potential to extend

Hybrid onsite in New York, NY

Location Preference : Strong preference for candidates based in the New York area.

Hourly rate : $125-145 / hr DOE

Project Background :

Our client, a major player in the financial services sector, secured a US banking license last year. They are now in the process of preparing for the setup, design, and operational launch of their new US bank operations.

This involves integrating correspondent banking as part of their service offerings. Working directly with C-Suite executives to ensure clear assessment and activation of necessary requirements before desired go-live mid-2025.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Lead large-scale financial services integration projects, with a focus on banking, M&A, and ledger integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across stakeholders in finance, technology, and operations.
  • Develop, manage, and track complex project plans, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones and dependencies.
  • Support communication efforts, delivering concise weekly and monthly updates to senior leadership, including decks for program reviews.
  • Maintain a laser focus on critical path activities, effectively managing and redirecting off-topic discussions.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with US regulations, providing guidance where necessary.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Financial Services Expertise : Extensive experience in financial services projects, particularly in banking or financial integrations.
  • Project Leadership : Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholder groups and dependencies.
  • Executive Communication : Able to clearly communicate project status and updates to senior leadership through both written and verbal communications.
  • Finance & Accounting Knowledge : Prior experience in finance within financial services, with an understanding of accounting principles.
  • Compliance Knowledge : Familiarity with US regulations in the banking and financial services industry.
