Compensation : $10.65 / hour + Estimated Tips ($64-$82 / shift)*

Status : Part-Time

Din Tai Fung is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Xiao Long Bao, or steamed soup dumplings, each made by hand with our Golden Ratio of 18 folds.

About the Role :

Food Runners are responsible for running food to guests at their tables according to Din Tai Fung’s Food Running Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP’s ).

Job Responsibilities & Tasks :

• Runs all food and beverages to tables in a timely manner to ensure food quality and in line with Din Tai Fung’s Food Running SOP
• Food items include hot soups (over 140 degrees F), which must be handled with caution and only after formal training
• Food items include dumplings inside bamboo steamers, which must be handled with caution and only after formal training
• Organizes tickets and food onto trays at the Expo Station
• Packs takeout orders according to Din Tai Fung Takeout Packing SOP
• Cleans and organizes the Expo Station and Takeout Packing Station
• Completes Runner Side Work
• Labels all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures
• Attends monthly staff meetings and Food Runner meetings

Supporting Functions :

• Maintains a cheerful, friendly and welcoming demeanor to all guests and co-workers
• Keeps all Front of House areas clean, organized and sanitized
• Lifts / moves boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
• Assists with regular deep cleaning of the restaurant
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all propriety information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP’s ).
