SUMMARY
Under direct supervision provides assistance to medical services staff which relieve medical staff of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CARF and DMHSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements.
- Supports and promotes a service environment for individual in need of behavioral health and / or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives.
Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives.
- Schedules medication clinic appointments.
- Performs routine duties with general oversight from supervisor.
- May perform routine duties of other program staff during absences.
- Records client vital signs prior to medication clinic visit.
- Escorts clients into medical office for services.
- Obtains and returns charts from medical records.
- Ensures all supplies and equipment required by the medical staff are present and operable prior to beginning of clinic.
- Ensure that all physicians’ documentation is completed and notes are recorded for each visit.
- Communicates physician's treatment recommendations regarding clients to appropriate clinical staff.
- Completes form for lab tests ordered by the doctor.
- Communicates with lab to track test results for medical staff.
- Ensures medical staff has copies of appointments scheduled at beginning of each day.
- Assists, as directed by supervisor, in completion of forms used by various pharmaceutical companies to obtain low cost or free medications for indigent clients.
- Travel may be required.
- Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will be made in accordance with agency policy and procedures.
- May be required to work evening and weekend hours, flexible schedule to respond to needs of medication clinic scheduling.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and 6 months related experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
May be required to obtain and maintain RMA on current status and provide copy to human resources for file.
May be required to complete DMHSAS Certified Case Management Training or equivalent.
May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certifications.
