Key Qualifications :

  • Educational Background : Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
  • Licensure : Must possess or be eligible for state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the state.
  • Experience : Prior experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge : Strong familiarity with local and state regulations governing speech-language therapy services in educational environments.

Primary Duties :

  • Support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in conducting evaluations and assessments.
  • Implement personalized treatment plans aimed at addressing speech and language disorders.
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services, emphasizing communication skill improvement and active participation in school activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and team members to ensure student success in academics and communication.
  • Maintain meticulous records of therapy sessions, student progress, and other necessary documentation.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as required.
  • Keep abreast of current best practices and emerging trends in speech-language therapy.
