Join this esteemed firm as they are actively seeking talented and experienced Labor and Employment Associate with at least 2 years of relevant experience to become an integral part of the team.
The Ideal candidate will be conducting legal research, managing discovery, drafting legal documents, attending hearings, participating in depositions, responding to EEOC and MDCR charges, and supporting partner-level litigation attorneys throughout all phases of employment-related litigation and traditional labor matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Conduct comprehensive and high-quality legal research.
- Assist with all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, preparing initial disclosures, and witness preparation.
- Prepare legal briefs and other pleadings.
- Collaborate with partner-level attorneys to determine document production, methods of production, and vendor selection.
- Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges.
- Manage various aspects of employment-related litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations, and depositions.
- Prepare trial materials.
- Attend and assist in pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
EXPERIENCE :
- 2+ years of experience in employment-related litigation and client counseling.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Experience managing discovery processes.
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Proficiency in online legal research services and internet-based legal resources, including Westlaw.
- Experience in traditional labor matters is a plus.
EDUCATION :
- Graduate of an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the Michigan State Bar or eligible for prompt admission.
