Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing centralized technical assistance to customers on a wide range of equipment related issues through remote monitoring and diagnostics to aid in maximizing our customers’ productivity and uptime.
This position will provide detailed diagnostic solutions / procedures to be used by dealer technicians and other customer support personnel to diagnose and repair technical product problems.
Duties and Tasks :
- Establish sense of urgency, prioritize equipment alerts received, and perform appropriate remote diagnostics.
- Accurately prepare a list of recommended steps to address detected abnormalities.
- Author and organize internal solutions, repair procedures, or technical bulletins, and communicate to appropriate service department personnel.
- Manage and track internally created tickets and time spent during monitoring of equipment.
- Technical liaison between OEM and 4Rivers product support team.
- Receive and communicate Expert Alerts to responsible branch, and ensure action is taken
- Monitor rental fleet and customer alerts and communicate with the appropriate contacts
- Collaborate with 4Rivers leadership when machine information is requested.
- Participate in all required technical training to maintain or achieve OEM Certifications and keep abreast of OEM solutions and cases, to facilitate proper diagnostics and repair of equipment.
- Partner with OEM representatives on issues related to repair and operation of equipment and critical issues on connected machines.
- Operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships to meet goals and deadlines, and maintain good communication between departments and branches.
Qualifications
- Associates degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the construction equipment industry.
- Journeymen level technician with at least three certifications in core product groups.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment and keep organized.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical to success in this role
- Strong computer and time management skills.
- Able to move freely on / under / around heavy equipment.
- Stoop, bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work remotely when required
