Job Description
- Performs activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.
- Demonstrates skillful, courteous competency in procedures for blood sample collection.
- Responsible for selecting the best equipment and site for the tests requested.
- Serves as an expert venipuncture resource for difficult sticks.
- Receives and processes all incoming specimens to prepare them for technical assay.
- Ensures the specimens are handled safely and stored under proper conditions for optimal results.
- Delivers prepared specimens to appropriate areas in a timely manner, including reference lab specimens.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Typically reports to a lead, supervisor or manager.
