Company Description Corfu Veterinary Clinic is a fast-paced five doctor small animal practice located in a residential country setting approximately 20 minutes east of Buffalo. Our clients come from near and far to receive quality medicine with a personal touch and that is something we find very rewarding. We go above and beyond to facilitate the needs of our clients and their pets while they're visiting our animal clinic in Corfu.  We are looking for the right individual that is focused, friendly, compassionate, works well with others, and has great multi-tasking skills. Our veterinary technicians are busy with all aspects of responsibilities throughout the clinic. We have in-house Idexx lab, digital radiology (dental and full body), and ultrasound. We perform a range of surgeries from routine to orthopedic and emergency. We are paperless and utilize iPads, laptops, as well as desktop computers. Our hours of operation are : Monday - Friday : 7 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm Saturday : 8 : 00 am - 12 : 00 noon We are closed on Sundays To learn more about us, click here :   Corfu Veterinary Clinic Job Description Job duties include, but are not limited to : Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for client communications in person and on the phone, checking in and out appointments, phlebotomy, catheter placement, cystocentesis, fine-needle aspirates, animal restraint, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, running treatments on our appointments and stellar patient care. Our ideal candidate will have strong computer skills and excellent customer care skills. You must also be thoughtful, friendly, curious, responsible, punctual, and have a strong desire to learn! Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Qualifications We're looking for : A licensed veterinary technician.  An active license in the state of New York is required for this position. 6+ months experience working as a veterinary technician. Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work. Rotating Saturday availability. Computer skills a must! We are a paperless practice! Pays attention to detail and is a fast learner. Triaging patients over the phone and during office visits. Educating clients on routine vaccine protocol and preventions. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely in person and on the phone. Interpret medical records and record client history accurately. Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow. Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner. Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin. Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs. Proficient in anesthesia preparation, induction, monitoring, and recovery Patient care for hospitalized and surgery patients. Filling medications as instructed by the veterinarian. A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one's knowledge and skillset. Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency.
