Responsible foroverseeing the selection and utilization of pharmaceuticals andsupporting core clinical programs such as MCare and formularymanagement the Clinical Pharmacist develops and administers toptierclinical programs aimed at enhancing service quality.

How youwill contribute :

• Prepare and compound medications includingtopical creams oral medications liquid medications injectablessuppositories nasal sprays transdermal gels / patchestroches / lozenges inhalation solutions and sublingual / buccalmedications.
• LeadMedicaid formulary management processes.
• Facilitate effective communication onpharmacotherapy issues.
• Reach out to members to address barriers tomedication adherence.
• Manage notifications to members stakeholdersand providers regarding formulary changes.
• Ensure accurate formulary setup and claimsadjudication.
• Participatein discussions to improve clinical and operational processes foradherence programs.
• Develop implement and update educationalmaterials for physicians and patients.
• Act as a clinical pharmacy resource forpharmacy benefit management.

Keyresponsibilities :

Medication Compounding : Prepare and compoundmedications in various forms based on physician prescriptions andpatient needs.

Compliance andRegulation : Ensure compliance with federal and statelaws and regulations including recordkeeping and handlingcontrolled substances.

StaffSupervision : Manage and supervise pharmacy staffincluding scheduling training and ensuring competency.

• OperationalOversight : Supervise daily pharmacy operationsincluding inventory management and orderingsupplies.
• Patient Care andCounseling : Provide pharmaceutical care andcounseling to ensure patient safety and optimal medicationusage.
• Quality Assurance : Implement quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy and safetyin medication dispensing.
• Communication : Maintain effective communication with healthcare providers patientsand stakeholders.
• FinancialManagement : Oversee pharmacy financial aspectsincluding billing and insurance claimsprocessing.

Continuous Improvement : Implement strategies forenhancing pharmacy operations and patient care.

EmergencyPreparedness : Develop plans for handling emergenciesaffecting pharmacy operations.

Ethical Standards : Upholdethical standards in pharmacy practice and patientconfidentiality.

Documentation : Maintainaccurate records of pharmacy operations and regulatorycompliance.

Training andDevelopment : Provide training opportunities forpharmacy staff development.

MinimumRequirements :

• Bachelors degree or Doctorate inPharmacy.
• Currentunrestricted Pharmacy License including MI PharmacyLicense.
• 25 years ofmanaged care pharmacy (PBM) experience or residencyequivalent.

PreferredSkills and Experiences :

• PharmD required.
• Strong communication problemsolvingfacilitation and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret professional journalstechnical procedures and regulations.
