If additional funding becomes available, members may have the option to re-enroll for additional years of service if they meet the service hour requirement ( hours) and perform satisfactorily.

Federal regulations require a High School diploma or equivalent to apply. Additional education and experience are preferred but not required.

The position requires a one-year commitment. This is a temporary, service position, not a traditional employment position.

Benefits provided to half-time members include : modest monthly living allowance ($. / month), loan forbearance, and a Segal Education Award equivalent to half of the Pell Grant that may be used to pay educational costs at eligible post-secondary educational institutions as well as to repay qualified student loans.

In order to serve in this position, applicants must be prepared to provide copies of the following documents : Proof of Citizenship (birth certificate or valid Passport), Social Security Card, Government Issued ID, Federal and State Tax Forms, High School Diploma or equivalent.

Members must submit to a complete criminal history background check, including a finger-print based FBI check. Individuals convicted of murder or those on the sex offender registry or required to be on the sex offender registry are not eligible.

The member must comply with the AmeriCorps Member Agreement (provided prior to service). You must possess a valid driver’s license to be considered for this position.

Duties / Responsibilities Duties / Responsibilities Under the direction of the 4-H County Extension Agent, deliver 4-H positive youth development programming directly to youth. This includes :

  • facilitating / teaching 4-H in-school club meetings;
  • preparing students for 4-H Project Achievement;
  • attending 4-H Summer Camp;
  • designing and implementing community service projects; and
  • assisting with other 4-H base programming.

Members will assist the 4-H Agent with day-to-day activities involved with providing direct services to youth, such as planning and development of 4-H programming.

Some programming may be delivered in a virtual format. Members will provide transportation to youth.

Percentage of time Duties / Responsibilities Support and provide leadership to the county 4-H Volunteer program : recruit, screen, train, and engage volunteers.

The member may assist with coordinating the county volunteer registration database. Halt-time (part-time) members should recruit at least 5 new volunteers during their service.

Percentage of time Duties / Responsibilities Track and document data related to the AmeriCorps performance measures and complete monthly reports, supported by the AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator.

This includes administering surveys to youth as well as data entry. Percentage of time Duties / Responsibilities Attend local, district, and state program activities and events alongside 4-H County Extension Coordinator.

Position Information Classification Title Title Unused / Unknown FLSA UGA Job Code FTE 0. Minimum Qualifications Position Summary The AmeriCorps State program is a federally funded grant providing citizens with the opportunity to serve in their own country.

The Georgia 4-H AmeriCorps State member provides 4-H programming directly to youth under the direction of the County Extension Agent.

Supervision is also provided by the AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator. This includes planning, implementation, and delivery of programming including in-school and after school club meetings, camp, and other 4-H programming delivered in the county as well as volunteer recruitment and transportation of youth.

The member will also assist the AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator in collecting required impact data by administering surveys to youth and entering data into provided spreadsheets.

Members must comply with AmeriCorps requirements such as monthly reporting, monthly webinars, and other required trainings.

This posting is for a part-time member serving for months for the period of September 1, 4 August , 5. Members are required to log a total of hours, averaging hours / week, depending on start date.

Relevant / Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a citizen with proof of citizenship.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies The successful candidate should exhibit qualities of independent judgment and a passion for service as well as the ability to perform the tasks necessary in planning, developing, and directing educational programs directed at youth.
