Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a software engineering manager for one or more teams.
- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a strong track record of full stack development from both backend and frontend.
Bonus points if you have strong experience with microservice architecture, bulk data processing (import flows) and single page application frameworks, specifically React.
- Demonstrate experience working across different altitudes, from code quality / delivery management and reviewing technical architecture proposals to communicating strategy and domain capabilities plans with team and senior leadership.
- Demonstrate experience building and operating large scale web platforms and microservices in an API-first environment, with emphasis on managing operational excellence and high-quality customer experiences.
Bonus points for experience in the Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) software space (ERPs, eCommerce Systems,
- Demonstrate experience leading the team through change (change management) and establishing cross-functional (with product management and design) collaboration rhythm that provides clarity to the team.
- Demonstrate experience growing team members craft skills and competencies, and providing them with challenging growth opportunities and constructive feedback.
- Demonstrate experience works across teams and functions to break down barriers to enable teams to move with urgency.
Responsibilities
- Build a high performing team by hiring and evaluating team members performance based on Intuit’s engineering rubrics. Provide constructives and clearly communicated feedback and co-creates growth plans with individuals.
- Lead operational excellence to deliver highly available, scalable web applications and microservices with utmost attention to quality, security, and performance metrics for APIs and experiences.
- Engrossed in the details of product, tech and architecture in order to co-create a feasible development plan with cross-functional stakeholders (Product management and Design).
- Lead the evolution of our capabilities on both Frontend (Forms, Import flow) and Backend with API-first mindset, and drive within your domain capabilities the continuous modernization and improvement of our operational and performance metrics.
- Ruthlessly prioritizing and unblocking teams on delivering high-value outcomes, managing deadlines and deliverables, while keeping transparency over the rationale.
Help teams sift through any noise with clearly communicated vision and priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (with product management, design and program management) through change management and provide the technical guidance and evaluations needed to maintain high quality product experiences for customers.
- Proactively identify team blockers. Define and execute remediation steps to keep the team velocity and deliverables value to customers high.
- Ready to quickly learn and dive deep into the code, when needed for evaluation and discussions, and comfortable navigating a diverse set of languages and technologies : PHP, Kotlin / Java, React, Spring Framework, MySQL, Kafka, and AWS technologies.
