Job Description :

The Associate Vice President for Career and Integrative Partnerships; Executive Director of the Career Connections Center is a member of the executive team for the Division of Student Life leading and supporting efforts to enhance student career outcomes throughout the campus community, Divisional strategic planning, and Divisional data collection and integration on behalf of their portfolio.

The incumbent has extensive knowledge of academic, industry, and corporate relations / business development sectors. The Associate VP and Executive Director provides strategic and operational leadership to the Division of Student Life’s career and integrative partnership portfolio including the university's centralized Career Connections Center (C3), the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars (MFOS) program and First-Generation Student Services (FGSS), the Brown Center for Leadership and Service (BCLS) and divisional Talent Management.

The incumbent is responsible for and has authority over the development, management, and budget for all career and integrative partnership-related programs and delivery systems for each of the respective departments (C3, MFOS, FGSS, BCLS, Talent Management).

The Associate VP and Executive Director oversees a budget of more than $5 million and ensures the management of all departmental facilities and technologies.

The incumbent facilitates collaborations with an array of stakeholder groups to positively influence experiential learning and career and post-secondary outcomes for all students across the institution.

This incumbent collaborates with other departments and committees within the Division of Student Life and across campus to promote student retention and persistence through student career development and engagement.

The Associate VP and Executive Director works with academic colleges, industry experts and hiring authorities, and campus partners to achieve goals.

The incumbent continually expands the client / user base and scope of services to ensure provision of the widest array of services possible to the broadest mix of academic partners, employers, and students.

The priorities of the Associate VP and Executive Director includes executive leadership and strategic planning; team development;

external relations and campus engagement; financial planning and budgeting; program evaluation and assessment. The Associate VP and Executive Director is an executive leader within the Division of Life

Priorities for the Associate VP and Executive Director include divisional and departmental executive leadership and strategic planning;

data analysis and program evaluation; external relations and engagement; financial planning and budgeting; team development; and policy development.

Responsible for the coordination, guidance, direction, fiscal oversight, and supervision of the Career Connections Center (C3).

Serves as the Executive Director of the C3 and Executive leader of the career center and its financial resources providing director supervision of the Director.

Partners with colleges / departments, employers, and other stakeholders to enhance career readiness and employment outcomes of all students.

Promotes career planning, experiential learning, and career preparation throughout the university community. Develops new employer relationships and works with workforce development agencies to support the employability of UF candidates.

Leads University efforts to ensure plans and practices are in alignment with workforce needs and expectations. Partners with colleges / departments, employers, and other stakeholders to enhance career readiness and employment outcomes of all students.

The incumbent identifies, develops, and guides innovative initiatives to improve student career readiness, graduation, employability and other appropriate outcomes and oversees data integration strategies to evaluate the university’s impact on students’ career and post-secondary outcomes.

Responsible for the coordination, guidance, direction, fiscal oversight, and supervision of all first-generation and low-income initiatives within the Division of Student Life including the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars (MFOS), and First-Generation Student Services (FGSS).

Develops and ensures the implementation of a comprehensive strategy to successfully transition and support first-generation students while educating and exposing this student population to campus resources, experiential learning opportunities, and success strategies throughout their collegiate experience.

Coordinates and partners with strategic campus and other key partners to advocate for resources and services needed to ensure first-generation student success.

Examines data and leads efforts to evaluate the impact of all programmatic efforts and services on the retention and graduation rates of MFOS, first-generation, and low-income students.

Responsible for the coordination, guidance, direction, fiscal oversight, and supervision of the Brown Center for Leadership and Service (BCLS).

Create and implement a plan to integrate experiential learning through student service and leadership development into core components of the University student experience.

Collaborate with campus partners to secure and promote service and leadership opportunities for all students. Create mechanisms for centralizing student service opportunities throughout campus and report the impact of student service within campus and the local community.

Responsible for the coordination, guidance, direction, fiscal oversight, and supervision of the Division’s Talent Management efforts which includes Divisional employee recruitment, on-boarding, retention, development, recognition and off-boarding.

Strategically plans for the best use of resources and efforts to enhance employee development and the overall employee experience.

Coordinates with Division of Student Life departments in assessing employee needs and measuring progress toward desired outcomes.

Serves on university committees and task forces as needed. Represents the university at state, regional, and national professional organizations.

Facilitates collaborative partnerships with a variety of colleges and campus offices. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Life or other University leadership including but not limited to serving in on-call capacities and participating in other Divisional programs and services.

Expected Salary :

Commensurate with Experience

Minimum Requirements :

Master's degree in an appropriate area and seven years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and nine years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

Terminal degree in an appropriate area of specialization or earned doctoral degree in Student Affairs Administration or a related field.

Should have at least 7 to years of progressive administrative experience in Student Affairs or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in providing effective career services to a vast student and employer population.

Background and understanding of best practices, workforce trends and state-of-the-art technology as applied to the delivery of career service programs.

Background in understanding and supporting first-generation college students’ needs. Knowledge of experiential education and its impact on career readiness.

Documented history of positive and collaborative working relationships. Team player. Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.

Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment.
