Shift / Work Hours : First shift Monday to Friday; 40 hours

Refractory Service, Inc. is a specialized industrial contractor, with over 60 years in the business. The Sales Representative will travel, sell, form relationships, cold call, communicate with the office, and follow up with customers and leads as needed throughout the upper Midwest.
The primary product being sold is refractory construction services and materials. Primary markets served include, but are not limited to, foundry, power generation, die casting, investment casting, commercial and industrial boilers, paper mills, steel mills, and renewable energy plants.

- Mortars
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Prospects, cultivates and qualifies new customer opportunities with the ability to communicate formal prospecting plan.
Creates market awareness offering through prospecting, networking, presentations and trade association meetings.
- Develops and implements the agreed upon business plan for a specific market sector that focuses on installation opportunities, materials sales through work orders, and increased customer base.
- Creates and develops sales / marketing strategies and leads that result in refractory installation, service, or material sales, to meet or exceed the established goals.
- Reviews estimates for accuracy in product and labor. Constructs and submits professionally written proposals.
- Acts as customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring the organization is the customers first choice for service.
- Meets directly with customers to establish needs and drive the overall sales process.
- Conducts customer site walk-throughs and estimates refractory installations, service opportunities, and material sales.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skill :

- Analytical thinking logically breaks down problems and looks for solutions
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point skills
Education Requirements :
Minimum of an associates degree and / or equivalent experience
Experience Requireme nts :
- Minimum of three years of previous relevant sales, field service or project management experience preferred
- Experience in sales, foundry, renewable energy, and / or refractory is preferred
- Understand and practice value added selling
Certifications & Licenses :
Industry-specific certifications and / or licenses a plus; must have valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Must have the ability to travel within Midwest.
Must be able to successfully pass DOT physical. Confined space, OSHA, and MSHA certifications are preferred, but not required.
Protective Clothing Required :
The position may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes or work boots, etc.

Work Environment :
The position is an outside sales based position with frequent visits to industry operations. The colleague regularly performs work-related travel.
