SUMMARY
As a HVAC / R Senior Laboratory Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the laboratory team to execute laboratory activities planned with the local Product Development Manager and Group Laboratory Manager and team at the HQ level.
You will also present technical report results to the main stakeholders and contribute actively to problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
- Coordinate BLDC compressors and inverters tests following internal and international standards, reporting results to the PD manager and Group laboratory manager.
- Work in a global environment with key stakeholders in product management.
- Overseeing the laboratory team personnel and define plans to reach the projects' required milestones.
- Monitor the progress of the team's activities and prepare Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports for upper management.
- Lead and provide direction on the theory and application of new HVAC&R products, including electronic expansion valves, inverters / drives, compressors, and control systems.
- Identify knowledge gaps in the laboratory workforce and implement countermeasures.
- Act as Carel USA's Subject Matter Expert for BLDC and Inverters.
- Assist the Sales and Quality departments in pre- and post-sales activities related to Inverters and BLDC compressors.
- Support marketing activities linked to commercial launch execution.
- Perform experiments in the HVAC / R field in a laboratory environment, utilizing lab equipment and data acquisition systems.
Analyze and evaluate test results critically.
- Scout for new technologies and innovative sources, such as through University, Open Innovation collaborations, etc.
- Perform any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required skills
- Ability to read an analyze electric drawings for Power Electronics applications
- Ability to use Oscilloscopes, Wattmeter and knowledge of Electrical theory
- Knowledge of Thermodynamic in HVAC / R applications
- Project Management and Team Management experience
- Education BS / MS Degree in Electric / Electronic engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Experience - 8+ years’ experience working with Electric Motors, BLDC compressors and Inverters in the HVAC / R
CERTIFICATIONs - HVAC / R, or ASHRAE certifications are a plus.
