We are seeking a skilled and motivated Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for the operations and maintenance of our OCI environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.

The OCI Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

This includes monitoring, managing, and optimizing our cloud environment to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, automation, and system administration.

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is Remote.

What You Will Do :

  • Regularly monitor the health of all OCI resources, set up automated health checks, and use integrated tools to identify and respond to incidents swiftly with pre-developed response plans
  • Collect and analyze performance metrics for all key resources, using OCI Monitoring to set up alerts for any thresholds or anomalies to ensure optimal resource performance
  • Apply necessary updates and patches to all OCI resources, and manage regular maintenance windows to minimize downtime and maintain system stability
  • Monitor resource utilization to ensure sufficient capacity for workloads and plan for scaling resources up or down based on demand patterns.
  • Optimize the performance of OCI services by tuning resource configurations, implementing load balancing, and auto-scaling policies, and optimizing network configurations, including VCNs, subnets, and gateways.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tools like Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Data Guard, and implement techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Manage user access and permissions using OCI Identity and Access Management (IAM), and regularly review and update IAM policies to enforce the principle of least privilege.
  • Enable and monitor audit logs for all OCI resources, ensure compliance with security policies through regular audits, and use OCI Cloud Guard to detect and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure data encryption at rest and in transit using OCI Vault, securely manage encryption keys and certificates, regularly scan for and remediate vulnerabilities, and apply security patches and updates promptly.
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Automate cloud operations using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and OCI Resource Manager.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects to design and implement scalable and resilient cloud solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Manage cloud security, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
  • Optimize cloud costs by monitoring usage and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Stay current with OCI updates, new features, and best practices.

What You Need :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in cloud automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and OCI Resource Manager.
  • Strong understanding of OCI services, including compute, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring, Prometheus).
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools (e.g., Oracle Identity and Access Management, Cloud Guard).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • OCI certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations, Architect, Operations) are a plus.

Nice To Have :

  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
