Line Cook
Commonpoint Queens is seeking a qualified Line Cook to help in the preparation of both catered and delivery meals in our social enterprise kitchen.
Fridays and Saturdays off.
Job Responsibilities :
- Cook menu items for delivery meals as instructed by the chef.
- Assist in the daily preparation of a Glatt kosher catering menu that will serve Commonpoint Queen's programs.
- Maintain the kitchen in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion, while adhering to the policies and procedures of the NYC Department of Health and kosher laws.
- Assist with inventory and food deliveries.
Minimum Qualifications :
- 1-2 years experience in large-scale food preparation or restaurant environment.
- A professional culinary degree or certificate is preferred.
- Current valid food safety certifications such as NYC Food Handlers Certificate or ServSafe.
- Knowledge of kosher food is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
- Ability to occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Hourly Rate : $18-20 / hour based on experience
