A law firm seeks an Appellate Coverage and Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its Dallas, TX office. This role involves representing clients in civil appeals, insurance coverage disputes, and commercial litigation matters.
Ideal candidates will have strong research and writing skills, experience in civil litigation, and a collaborative approach to client service.
Duties :
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare high-quality written briefs and motions.
- Assess cases for liability, damages, and potential exposure.
- Manage client communications, including reporting, billing, budgeting, and case updates.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests in line with federal, state, and local rules.
- Conduct depositions, working closely with clients to gather case-critical information.
- Meet or exceed monthly billable hour targets.
- Occasionally travel for case-related matters.
Requirements :
- Preferred experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications :
Licensed to practice law in Texas (required).
Skills :
- Advanced research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including discovery responses and briefs.
- Strong presentation skills for client meetings and courtroom settings.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage case load efficiently.
