Security Engineer

Job Description :

The Security Engineer will be responsible fordeveloping and implementing security measures to protect theorganizations computer networks and systems.

You will monitor forsecurity breaches conduct security assessments and ensurecompliance with industry standards. This role requires a deepunderstanding of cybersecurity threats technologies and bestpractices along with the ability to respond to and mitigatesecurity incidents.

KeyResponsibilities :

• Design implement and maintain security measuresto protect IT systems networks anddata.
• Monitor security events detect potentialthreats and respond to security incidents in a timelymanner.
• Conduct vulnerability assessmentspenetration testing and security audits to identify weaknesses inthe IT infrastructure.
• Develop and implementsecurity policies procedures and guidelines in alignment withindustry standards.
• Configure and managesecurity tools including firewalls intrusion detection / preventionsystems (IDS / IPS) and antivirussoftware.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensurethe secure design and deployment of systems andapplications.
• Stay current with the latestcybersecurity trends threats and technologies and apply thisknowledge to improve the organizations securityposture.
• Provide technical expertise andsupport in security architecture risk management and securityoperations.
• Train and educate employees oncybersecurity best practices andpolicies.
• Document security proceduresincidents and changes for compliance and futurereference.
• Ensure compliance with regulatoryrequirements and industry standards such as GDPR HIPAA or ISO27001.
• Work with external auditors and vendorsto address security concerns and enhance the organizations securitycapabilities.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceInformation Technology Cybersecurity or a relatedfield.
• Minimum of 35 years of experience incybersecurity or IT securityengineering.
• Strong understanding of securityprinciples techniques and technologies including firewalls IDS / IPSencryption and SIEM.
• Experience with securitytools and platforms such as Splunk Palo Alto Cisco orsimilar.
• Proficiency in scripting andautomation using languages like Python PowerShell orBash.
• Strong problemsolving skills and theability to think critically in highpressuresituations.
• Excellent communication skills withthe ability to explain complex security concepts to nontechnicalstakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such asCISSP CEH CISM or CompTIA Security arepreferred.
• Familiarity with regulatoryrequirements and standards such as GDPR HIPAA or ISO 27001 is aplus.
• Ability to work independently and as partof a team in a fastpaced dynamicenvironment.
