ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Drives increased sales and Company growth by developing positive business relationships with agents / brokers.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the Company’s products and processes and how agents / brokers interact with these products and processes.
  • Maintains increasing knowledge of health insurance industry markets, products, and legal environments to provide a value-added service to agents / brokers and their clients.
  • Conducts regular follow-up and prospective calls to agents / brokers, both in office and on-site, to market Company services.
  • Assists agents / brokers in presenting Company products to clients by attending client / broker meetings and enrollment meetings.
  • Actively participates in team meetings, providing input to contribute to the team’s overall success.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends and regulatory issues surrounding benefit plan design and administration
  • Occasional vehicular travel
  • Occasional long, irregular hours and possible travel.
  • Ability to work overtime during 4th quarter busy time.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, frequently speaking and hearing, and occasionally standing, walking, bending, crawling, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 25lbs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Life / Health Agent’s License is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a group health insurance / employee benefits sales role.
  • In-depth knowledge of group insurance products preferably attained through working in an insurance marketing or selling role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Exchange; proficient with various web browsers.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret moderately complex documents including sales, underwriting, and Company guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships and provide positive customer service.
  • Analyze and resolve problems to assist agents / brokers in presenting the best solution to prospective clients.
  • Determine when situations need to be escalated to Company management.
  • Work in and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

The annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000.

General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of TIH :

All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of TIH Insurance Holdings, LP (TIH) offering the position.

TIH offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accidental death and dismemberment and tax-preferred savings accounts, along with other voluntary benefits.

All regularly scheduled teammates (not temporary or contingent workers), regardless of the number of scheduled hours, can contribute to a 401(k) savings plan and you become eligible for Company matching contributions after one year of service and attainment of age 21.

Teammates also receive no less than 10 days of vacation (prorated based on date of hire and by full-time or part-time status) during their first year of employment, along with 10 sick days (also prorated), and paid holidays.
