Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Member Strategy Office)

Job Description

This role will support the newly formed Member Analytics Team under the Enterprise Data & Analytics division of Member Strategy Office.

Provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to leadership, supporting enterprise and member strategy.

Analyze business problems and issues using business intelligence and data science tools that incorporate data from internal and external sources.

Work under minimal supervision and use complete understanding of business needs and objectives to make recommendations that have impact on the achievement of operational goals.

Advanced skill set and proficiency with cloud data querying, data manipulation, and analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured data sets, to drive insights into business performance
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations in order to support business decisions
• Develop, maintain, and manage data products such as model predictions and created features
• Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems
• Use analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives
• Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and provide business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance
• Provide reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests within the business area
• Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
• Build working relationships with team members and subject matter experts
• Lead small projects and initiatives

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in data analysis and reporting
• Complete knowledge and understanding of business area / specialization
• Advanced skill with data analysis tools and programming languages, such as PySpark / Python or R, and SQL
• Advanced skill using statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis
• Advanced skill in complex data manipulation across multiple tables
• Effective data integration, cleaning and validation skills
• Skill communicating data analysis and visualizations to nontechnical and senior audiences
• Analytical research skills
• Interpersonal skills - creative thinker, open-minded, collaborative, curious, empathetic, and has a diverse perspective
• Intermediate skill in utilizing work products to tell a story through appropriate balance of visualizations, design aesthetics, and words
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

Desired Qualifications

• Strong project management experience in business analytics for strategy development and support
• Strong strategic communicator (extensive experience developing and delivering executive-level presentations)
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical documentation
• Experience in a consultancy role (i.e., consulting and collaborating with internal or external clients to support data-driven decisions)
