Job Introduction : At Sprouts FarmersMarket, the Assistant Store Manager is responsible for directingall business processes at their assigned store and deliveringpositive results.

The Assistant Store Manager must be competent inall departments, both perishable and non-perishable, to ensure theteam executes all programs and processes to drive sales andefficiency.

They inspire and motivate a team committed to providingsuperior customer service in a fast-paced and friendly environmentin compliance with company safety, labeling, health, and weightsand measures standards.

They also oversee the entire store in theabsence of the Store Manager. This role is responsible for drivingstore sales, team member engagement, and robust customer advocacythrough strong, dynamic leadership to create success in people,processes, partners, and performance.

Overviewof Responsibilities :

  • Positively shape theculture in the store by modeling the leadership behaviors alignedto Sprouts values.
  • Develop the storeleadership team to deliver an exceptional customer experience bymotivating and engaging team members.
  • Lead ateam of approximately ten people (all Department Managers andReceivers) with courtesy, respect, integrity, and care.
  • Motivate and develop the management team byembracing, leading, advocating, and consistently modeling ourSprouts leadership behaviors
  • Celebrate storesuccesses and identify / address opportunities for perpetualimprovement.
  • Consistently evolve customersatisfaction by positioning and teaching team members to exceedcustomer expectations.
  • Demonstrate advancedproduct knowledge when assisting customers and training store teammembers
  • Communicate expectations, policychanges, new initiatives, and product knowledge.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback anddirection for effective communication and collaboration withinstore teams and store support area partners.
  • Confidently and effectively address emergencies, crises, equipmentfailures, and resolve any issues that arise with a sense ofurgency.
  • P&L ownership - manageinventory, labor, and expenses at optimum levels and meet targetsas a rate to sales.
  • Maintain compliance withall safety and food safety recommendations and requirements, asmeasured through Ecolab and PCR audits.
  • Identify any safety, security, and loss prevention concerns andaddress with the BPS team to resolve.
  • Ensurefederal, state, and company regulations and standards are met orexceeded, including laws, regulations and standards related tolabor, health, safety, and sanitation, in order to maintain a safeand clean work environment for employees and customers, to ensurecompliance with all legal and Company requirements
  • Drive sales growth and store experienceexecution anchoring on Educate and Enrich standards to includeconsistent 8+ store conditions, ad directives, top item knowledge,and department schematics.
  • Master and createan obsession around top item in stock conditions in all departmentsthrough effective fresh item management, perpetual inventory, andcomputer assisted ordering.
  • Oversee inventorymanagement, including ordering, receiving, unloading, breakingdown, stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise with particularattention paid to code dates and sanitation.
  • Oversee invoicing from our distribution centers and vendors. Reportdiscrepancies to the appropriate supplier as needed.
  • Lead Receivers and backroom organization,cleanliness, and safety.
  • Help build andmaintain displays on the sales floor, compliant with companyprograms and standards.
  • Verify all productsare fresh, labeled, and priced accurately.
  • Oversee price changes and remain up to date on sale prices.

Qualifications :

  • Be atleast 21 years of age.
  • Have a high schooldiploma or equivalent, a degree in business management, marketing,retailing, communications, advertising, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of retail experience; or anacceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Have demonstrated success leadingnon-perishable and perishable department operations with integrity,including profit and loss, safety, sanitation, staffing,disciplinary actions, training, developing leaders, conductingperformance appraisals, meeting deadlines, managing inventory andshrink, executing sales promotions, and merchandising.
  • Professional communication skills, bothwritten and verbal, along with attention to detail, analytical, andsolution-focused decisiveness.
  • Be proficientin Microsoft Office, bookkeeping / accounting, time and attendance,and human resources software.
  • Be flexible towork a schedule that changes based on business needs, includingnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Have andmaintain Food Safety certification.
  • Able tolift 60 pounds between 15 inches and 70 inches above the ground,lifting heavier items is required occasionally.
  • Pushing and pulling racks and U-boats ofmerchandise is common throughout a typical day. Push and pull forcerequired ranges from 80 pounds to 100 pounds.
  • Stand on hard surfaces continuously, walk up to 2 miles, reachvertically to access upper levels, and transfer items horizontally.
  • Wear PPE consistent with the task assignment,including but not limited to non-slip, closed-toe shoes, longpants, and gloves (latex and or cut-resistant).
  • Tools and equipment used include, but are notlimited to, phone, computer, mouse, keyboard, ovens, freezers, meatand cheese cutters, grinders, scales, mixers, box cutters,scanners, cash register, carts, and pallet jacks.
