Position Overview :

The Stock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inventory and stock management processes within the retail store. This role ensures that all products are received, organized, and accurately accounted for in the stockroom.

The Stock Supervisor will lead the stock team where applicable, and partner with the sales team to maintain a well-organized, efficient, and safe stockroom environment, enabling the store to operate effectively and meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and organization of all products in the stockroom.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, working closely with the buying and planning teams.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems and processes.

Team Leadership :

  • Lead, train, and supervise the stock team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately (where applicable)
  • Schedule and manage the stock team’s daily activities, including receiving shipments, restocking the sales floor, and organizing the stockroom.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to the stock team to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Safety and Compliance :

  • Ensure that all stockroom operations comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom environment.
  • Monitor and enforce loss prevention procedures to minimize shrinkage and protect company assets.

Collaboration and Communication :

  • Work closely with the store management team to align stockroom operations with store needs and sales goals.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, including sales, merchandising, and customer service, to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Address and resolve any stock-related issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retail stockroom operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and products as required.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and loss prevention strategies.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
