Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract position runs from ASAP through June 12, 2026, with working hours from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM. The role focuses on providing support in a middle school setting as a Resource Specialist Program (RSP) Teacher, with a caseload of approximately 28 students.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized curricula tailored to students unique learning needs
  • Facilitate skill development to support students academic growth
  • Write and maintain thorough Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress
  • Lead and participate in IEP meetings in collaboration with families and school staff
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive education

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Valid California teaching credential in Special Education
  • Experience working with middle school students in an RSP or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment tools, and instructional strategies
  • Ability to develop prehensive IEPs and conduct meaningful assessments
  • Excellent munication skills and collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and families
  • Location : Santa Cruz, CA
