We are currently looking for production helpers. Responsible for safety, Quality, housekeeping, 5S, and equipment performance as it relates to handling materials, packing products, and performing other duties to support extrusion and in line press machine operation.

- Supports in line press machines and extruder operators in packaging and handling materials.
- Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met.
- Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
- Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Responsible for managing and handling hazardous waste.
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude that reflects the company's commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Maintains all aspects of housekeeping according to plant policies and procedures.
- Provides feedback to the shift lead and supervisor on equipment or production issues.
- Provides support to Production, Quality, and Maintenance to increase machine uptime, productivity, and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the work center.
- Takes all necessary actions to manage production costs and improve profitability.
- Enforces all plant and department safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct monthly safety requirements BOP's.
- Conduct required quality checks - Blend Checks, First articles, and hourly checks.
- Participate and drive on continuous improvement activities.
- Sets-up blenders, hoppers, etc. to specifications outlined on the order. (See detail Material Handler Responsibilities list).
- Trouble shoots equipment when it is down or not performing to standard.
- Stages product in an efficient manner to sustain manufacturing and to maintain production schedules issued to Manufacturing.
- Coordinates and cooperates with oncoming shifts to ensure limited disruption of production.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- Conduct forklift inspections at the beginning of shift.

Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Professional background
2 + years, preferred of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Ability to read and understand production orders and quality specifications.
- Ability to read and understand measurements (ruler, weight, percentages, basic arithmetic)
- Ability to use and operate a computer (generate labels, report productions, etc.)
