Mechanical Overland Park , Kansas Full-Time Jan 24, 2022 DPS is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong understanding of the engineering lifecycle related to facility design to lead our Mechanical Engineering Department.
Our Overland Park office will support various engineering design projects and construction in clean rooms, laboratories, biotech, pharma, or Life sciences industries.
The Mechanical Department Manager will provide technical oversight, staff development, contract management, technical and cost proposal development, project performance and client management for targeted clients.
This is a full-time position and with an excellent salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage a team of Mechanical Engineers and designers, providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to staff.
- Lead designs of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems including preparation of calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and engineers cost estimates.
- Provide senior review and peer review of mechanical engineering designs.
- Supervise and mentor mid-level and junior staff as they build their careers.
- Coordinate with other building design disciplines and work in a team environment.
- Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations
- Support Business Development for client engagement at senior levels
- Review detailed mechanical designs
- Manage work assignments
- Provide technical backup to the operations teams in resolving complex mechanical problem
Requirements :
- BS in Mechanical Engineering; 10+ years of Mechanical Engineering consulting / design experience
- Will be a registered Professional Engineer - Mechanical
- Proven success in managing projects and project teams is essential
