Lead Wrapper Operator Job Description :
The Lead Wrapper Operator position will be responsible for the operation of the wrapper machines and is the go-to person.
Job Responsibilities :
- Communicates with incoming and outgoing shift Lead Packager.
- Verifies correct recipes, procedures, and processes are being followed daily.
- Communicates with Supervisor any issues that are hindering productivity.
- Attends huddles twice per shift.
- Coordinates breaks and lunches within area.
- Coordinates with Supervisor and Manager on changeover and stoppage tasks
- Works with wrapper operators on issues leading to difficulties in packaging area.
- Leads team in any troubleshooting packaging issues.
- Training new employees in processes and procedures.
- Works with packaging team on producing and communicating needs and improvement ideas to supervisors and managers.
- Worked with Case Packer Operators to ensure proper Case Packing Operation.
- Works with Hand Packagers to ensure cases are packed to standard.
- Assists in troubleshooting on both lines, regardless of what line typically assigned to.
- Helps coordinate any WIP and repacking tasks.
- Weekend attendance mandatory when scheduled.
Qualifications and Skills :
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of Wrapper Operating experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in hot / cold environments
- Ability to stand for 8 hours during shift
- For safety much read and understand English
