Staff Revenue Accountant

Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in Chicago IL in search of a talented Staff Revenue Accountant .

Job Summary

The Staff Revenue Accountant is a key collaborator in the of daily and monthly operations of revenue accounting and reporting in accordance with U.

S. GAAP and corporate policies. This role will also assist with understanding and interpreting technical accounting implementing revenue process improvements and various aspects of the billing / revenue systems.

The Staff Revenue Accountant also assists with monthend reporting and the yearend audit. This is a hybrid role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :

• Execute review of sales contracts including escalation of significant and / or nonstandard deals to Technical Accounting team
• Ensure all sales data moves accurately from Salesforce CPQ into Sage Intacct for revenue recognition and timely client invoicing
• Partner with Service Operations to ensure accuracy of time and billing rates in time tracking system
• Assist with requests from Sales and Sales Operations Teams related to standard revenue recognition
• Complete monthend close activities including revenue deferred revenue and unbilled revenue reconciliations
• Participate in process improvement initiatives for Order to Cash process
• Assist in external financial audits including preparation of PBCs / supporting schedules
• Maintain uptodate knowledge of authoritative accounting guidance on ASC 606 revenue recognition

Qualifications : I. Education :

I. Education :

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)

II. Experience :

• 13 years of public accounting or accounting experience at a SaaS company
• Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is a plus
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP

III. License(s) / Certification(s) :

CPA license or in pursuit of CPA license (preferred)

Knowledge Skills & Abilities :

• Experience handling complex accounting matters and demonstrating competency in US GAAP
• Experience with Salesforce CPQ and / or Intacct is a plus
• Ability to partner with and influence crossfunctional personnel
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
