A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a Plaintiff Personal Injury Law Associate Attorney. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel, manage a caseload of personal injury cases, and represent clients in court.
Duties :
- Work closely with clients to understand the extent of their injuries
- Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel
- Represent clients in court
- Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, slip and falls, premises liability claims, and wrongful death cases
- Draft and respond to discovery
- Draft motions and motion responses
- Conduct legal research
- Work with experts from various disciplines
- Assist with report drafting and deposition preparation
Requirements :
- At least 1 year of experience pre-suit and litigating personal injury on the plaintiff side (a plus)
- Experience drafting and responding to motions (a plus)
- Licensed and in good standing with the Florida State Bar
- Substantial knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence
- Strong writing and legal research skills
- Bilingual Spanish / English skills are a plus
Education and Certifications :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Florida State Bar
Skills :
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
- Bar Dues and Continuing Legal Education (CLEs) provided by the law firm
