Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following :
- Prepare and implement the instructional process for students with IEP's
- Deliver instruction, through the use of curriculum materials and educational software
- Develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedule that reflects state and school requirements
- Implement standards for student behavior in order to ensure a safe, secure and effective learning environment by providing a high degree of structure, clear expectations, and consistency
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
- Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. Master's degree is a plus
- Have an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement (no other certification will be accepted at this time)
- Must be able to work up to 37.5 hours per week.
