A healthcare network in Illinois is currently seeking a licensed Hematology / Oncology Physician to join their growing team in Chicago.
In this role, the Hematology / Oncology Physician will be responsible for providing knowledgeable, compassionate, and holistic care to the patients with cancer and benign hematological conditions.
About the Opportunity :
- Schedule : Monday to Friday
- Hours : 9am to 5pm
- Setting : Inpatient / Outpatient
- On-Call Schedule : 1 : 3
Responsibilities :
The Hematology / Oncology Physician will :
- Support care of patients throughout the network through direct care, consultation, or electronic consultation
- Set standards and ensures the provision of consistent high-quality care to patients with hematology and oncology disorders by educating, assisting, and guiding Primary Care Physicians
- Supervise and train Hematology / oncology Subspecialty Fellows, rotating residents and medical students
- Supervise the Infusion Center chemotherapy nursing staff
- Maintain accurate medical records as well as the accurate & timely completion of billing encounter forms
- Participate in the division performance improvement program and departmental and hospital performance improvement activities
- Attend meetings and participates on committees, as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited college or university
- Licensed as a physician in the State of Illinois (or have the ability to obtain license prior to employment)
- Current DEA license or the ability to obtain license prior to starting employment
- Current Illinois Controlled Substance License or the ability to obtain license prior to starting employment
- Board certification or Board eligibility by American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in a Hematology or Oncology subspecialty
- Experience with participation in NCI sponsored clinical trials
- Excellent clinical and technical skills necessary to evaluate and mentor fellows and residents
- Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills :
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Cerner)
