Art, Film, and Visual Studies Position Description The Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor in contemporary filmmaking practice.
Applicants should have a terminal degree in a related field and experience teaching and advising students in programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
The successful candidate will teach filmmaking to undergraduates and PhD students throughout the university who incorporate filmmaking into their academic research.
Filmmakers whose work explores the boundaries of non-fiction and fiction, experiments with the limits of documentary, traverses lines of cultural difference, or otherwise makes original contributions to contemporary filmmaking are encouraged to apply.

Basic Qualifications Doctorate or MFA in related discipline required by the time the appointment begins Additional Qualifications Candidates should have a record of accomplishment in the field, as demonstrated by screenings, exhibitions, and projects in venues relevant to the candidate’s practice.
