Your new role

As an Associate Portfolio Manager you will be primarily focused upon the evaluation, execution, and ongoing management of Private Equity co-investment and co-underwrite investments as well as participating in the evaluation and management of Private Equity fund investments.

AustralianSuper's Private Equity strategy is to be a trusted capital partner alongside our strategic partners (PE GP's) across fund commitments, co-investments and direct co-underwrite investments.

The role includes the following responsibilities :

• Support the development and maintenance of relationships and the sourcing of co-underwrite and co-investment opportunities with incumbent GPs and a shortlist of other GPs.
• Contribute to the due diligence, negotiation, execution and closing processes, including the appointment of external advisers (as appropriate) and management of the internal approval process.
• Prepare internal investment papers, analysis and other materials required to progress each opportunity through the investment process.
• Present due diligence, analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders within the Fund on transactions.
• Participate in the management and monitoring of the PE fund investments, co-investments and co-underwrite investments, including attending quarterly monitoring meetings and Board / LPAC meetings as appropriate.
• Manage and mentor less experienced colleagues.

The position will report to a Portfolio Manager, Private Equity (New York), and is based on-site at 1251 Avenues of the Americas, with a hybrid work schedule.

What you'll need

Culture is key at AustralianSuper and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team.

• 7+ years of investment or investment-related experience, in Private Equity, M&A and / or Investment Banking.
• Strong fundamental equity analysis skills including financial modelling skills and financial acumen.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage resources (time, people, budget); working collaboratively across the Investment Department to achieve objectives.

Pay transparency notice

The salary range for this position is $350,000 to $370,000 plus discretionary bonus (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City).

The base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
