Posting Summary Functional Position Title STAFF SCIENTIST OR SENIOR STAFF SCIENTIST Position Number Appointment Type Regular Location-City New Orleans School / Division MEDICAL SCHOOL Department Center of excellence-Neuroscie Position Summary The Neuroscience Center of Excellence is seeking a Staff Scientist or Staff Scientist Senior, depending upon qualifications.
Successful candidates should have a PhD or equivalent degree and must be able to work independently and will be responsible for studying Imaging, immunocytochemistry, single cell genomics / epigenomics, and dry eye in animal models.
Prior research experiences in imaging, immunocytochemistry, molecular biology, epigenetic regulation of gene expression and bioinformatics, is highly desired.
- The team member will be expected to perform team-based science research. Incumbent will design, organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures and in some cases design new protocols;
- prepare and submit manuscripts, grant applications, and present data in lab meetings, seminars, and at national scientific meetings;
assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; participate in the training, supervision and guidance of junior technicians, students and postdoctoral fellows.
