Summary :
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Assistant Controller in all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintain General Ledger for parent company and all related entities.
- Responsible for monthly close procedures for assigned entities.
- Work with CPA firm and auditors on yearly financial audits and reviews.
- Provide guidance to the accounts payable department in the proper entry of accounts payable and accounts receivables.
- Follow company accounting policies to comply with GAAP, tax requirements, state reporting requirements, and management reporting requirements.
- Responsible for accounting classification of all entries in the General Ledger.
- Prepare Bank Reconciliations
- Prepare or review Accounts Reconciliations for each balance sheet account on assigned entities.
- Maintain updated Financial Close Analysis files for assigned entities.
- Assist corporate personnel with Concur reporting as needed.
- Review credit card statement reconciliations.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervises and coordinates the work of Junior and Staff Accountants performed on assigned entities.
Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and a minimum of 4 years of progressive financial accounting experience.
- Proficient with accounting software, spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills .
- Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
- Skilled at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Experience with construction accounting, inventory accounting, and job-costing or manufacturing accounting.
- CPA Preferred (not required)
Physical Requirements / Work Environment :
Work is performed in an office environment and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20
pounds.
