Job Description

Only qualified Expert Project Manager candidates located in the Oakland, CA area will be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

The candidate possesses the following distinguishing characteristics :

  • Experience in a large construction firm or utility work & resource management / portfolio management environment
  • Process improvement experience
  • Experience leading and managing long term improvements and / or initiatives with information technology components
  • Ability to effectively manage cross-functional processes with a matrixed group of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to think strategically and present an integrated, properly formatted end-to-end story with concise data analyses in the form of a PowerPoint presentation
  • High level of utility, work management, resource management, change control, and portfolio management business acumen

The Work Order Management Initiative will address the historical lack of ownership, governance and controls across the work order lifecycle by containing the problem, reducing the backlog, refining processes, and driving leadership accountability.

The goal of the Work Order Management Tiger Team is to put together strategy and execute that strategy over six-month frame to mitigate safety, regulatory, compliance, financial risk relating to open order spend.

Expert Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Act as overall lead for the Work Order Management Tiger Team (3-5 people)
  • Develop and execute the Tiger Team strategy
  • Track the progress using lean methods with visual management, operating systems, problem solving, and reduction of waste
  • Report out weekly to management with visual tracking and progression
  • Align with cross functional clients including Business Finance, Work Order Management, Change Management, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with internal process and procedures

Additional Details :

  • Client laptop will be provided to the candidate located within the client's service territory
  • Expense reimbursement for mileage and potential travels must have prior approval before submittal
