What you will do

The Head of Underwriting Operations oversees all rating and underwriting processes and functions for the entirety of the Enterprise Revenue Organization.

A critical role within the senior leadership team, this role ensures that our processes and functions are running in the most optimal and efficient manner ensuring profitable growth while remaining within our budget.

This position is essential in ensuring long term sustainability for the operations and will be responsible for creating, developing, and implementing strategies to ensure our goals are met.

This position works alongside other members of the Enterprise Revenue leadership team to ensure that sales and business strategies are met within our budget constraints along with creating and implementing the vision for long term success.

  • Direct oversight of all rating and endorsement functions and direct responsibility for the Associate Underwriting team and continued development of the program.
  • Indirect oversight of the Underwriting operations and functionality.
  • Ownership of the policy life cycle and process. Develop, design, recommend and implement changes to the current process to ensure we are delivering the best possible customer experience with a policy along with managing it to the lowest cost possible.
  • Create and monitor effective KPIs for the underwriting and rating process to ensure the needs of each business unit’s customers are met that exceed expectations in the marketplace.
  • Primary lead for development and refinement of underwriting and rating staffing models for the Revenue Organization.
  • Own the customer experience in respect to underwriting operations. This would be for the lifecycle of all policies including interactions with agents.

Align with other areas of the organization on the development of customer experience surveys, monitoring results and giving feedback along with making recommendations on changes to improve the overall customer experience for underwriting operations.

  • Work with the revenue leaders as well as leaders within the organization in developing operational efficiency ideas and working through to implement various changes to improve our expense ratio.
  • Responsible for working with leaders in the Revenue operations team to develop, monitor and give feedback on Service Level agreements that are put into place each year.
  • Ownership of regulatory laws and rules that would fall into underwriting operations, such as tort requirements for each state to ensure we are meeting and compliant with such laws and rules so that we are not subject to fines and discipline by a given state.
  • Key stake holder in Revenue Operations leadership team and will work with and interact with the organization to ensure all goals are met on a yearly basis.
  • Strategic thought process and development of future state of the underwriting operations area that brings in corporate and segment strategies to deliver an optimal state of expense and efficiency.

What you will need

  • 10+ Years of Progressive Underwriting Operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management or Finance preferred

Additional Information :

Location : Hybrid

Salary Range : $172,078 - $239,127

The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.

This position is bonus eligible.
